Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays! ♥

Wishing everyone a very joyous and memorable Christmas and a safe and exciting holidays.
I will make this a short little entry to greet everyone on this special period. Wish you all get what you have asked Santa for.

Cannot wait to open presents and be with loved ones. Also followe
d by a very long weekend! Yes, Monday and Tuesday will be public holiday here in Australia and this will be spent catching up with lovely friends, basking in the end of year sales and some well overdue R&R.

I will be posting some of the great pieces I will find in the sales. So have to definitely eat lots of the glorious food for sustenance.

I will leave you for now with one of the quotes that I love and it is this....

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years"
~Abraham Lincoln

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy holidays everyone! x

Confessions of a Shopaholic ღ

I would like thank everyone for their very sweet comments about my dog Lucky. Am truly thankful for such great and lovely readers.

I have been inactive for the past week due to work and just feeling glum. Today though, I decided to get out of a rut and spend a d
ay shopping with my good friend Zara - a dear close gal pal whom I've known since my uni days. We've shared so much together, even scoured the streets of London. I would like give a cyber kiss and hug to her. She is truly an amazing person and dear friend.

We went shopping today and picked up a couple of nice pieces. Who would have thought that Sydney has such amazingly cute dresses. The cu
rrent obsessions are polka dots, florals and bows. A girl can never be to old to not like floral, bows and polka dots. At least for this girl, I know I will never tire of them.

Just finished watching Confessions of a Shopaholic and such a funny movie for all of you who wants a funny, light hearted chic flick, then check this one out! Amazing outfits and funny slapsticks. Be warned though, not to be take
n seriously. This has an important moral to the story though. Shopping, just like anything is something that one should not do in excess. Forgiveness, love, family, friendships and relationships of course are the main priority.

Why do we shop?

I have this theory why us girls turn to shopping more so than others. Something to do with upbringing and the past. For me, I was brought up with 4 other siblings and while growing up as lovely and amazing my parents were they were unable to get me the wonderful girlie dresses that I wanted (violin playing). So when I began earning my own money I began to go make up for the loss time by stocking my wardrobe with pretty and girlie things. The movie hit so close to home. What is your story? x

Moving along..

My outfit for the day.
Dress: Valley Girl
Sandals: Rubi Shoes
Belt: Chinatown

As a few of you may know, the holiday season in Aust
ralia is a scorcher. It is summer time and out comes the cotton dresses, sandals and sunnies. In particular, I am setting my eyes on the below and am waiting ever so patiently for the end of year sale where hopefully the below will be marked down in price. I just hope that my size will still be available. If not then sadly they were never meant to be mine.

For all who are specially lucky to have white Chr
istmas. Am so extra happy for you! Cardigans, jumpers and boots with bows are just divine!

Drool worthy sandals from Marc Jacobs are number
one on my list.

In the mean time though, no harm getting
guilt free pieces from the local shops and of course Target. Oh thank you Target for hiring fashions buyers to bring us these cute dresses such as the below.

Dress: Target - Free Fushion size 6
Bag: Dangerfield

Ok the below was not from Target but what I purchased earlier with gal pal Zara but didn't have a chance to try on at the shop as for some reason Target has a far better change room. Polka dot short sleeved dress with a button up back.

Dress: George St Sydney

That's all for now. What have you been up to this weekends? Christmas is just around the corner and I think this year will a great one. Have a great weekend! Til next time. x

Lucky to have had you ♧♧♧

I just wanted to share a story with you all. One day, a long time ago, I was studying for a school exam. As usual, I was procrastinating and day dreaming of far pretty things and wanting to go outside and enjoy the sunshine than bury my head in books. While staring into space, I spotted a car stop across the street in front of my window. The man unwound his car window and out came the cutest black pomeranian dog. The car then sped off and the dog sat on the side walk in front of my window.

After an hour or two, the dog was still there. Just sitti
ng and waiting. Curiously, I called my youngest brother and told him what had happened. We then grabbed some meat and lured the dog in. We already had a dog at the time and mum was not very fond of dogs either. So we decided that we will call the animal shelter to get him picked up. After much thought and hard work convincing mum, we got to keep him. That was more than 10 years ago.

Taken Last Christmas Lucky @ 15yo.

Pets bring such joy in our lives don't they? They can be the greatest companion and
give such unconditional love and ask almost nothing in return.

My Lucky passed away on Monday, 13th December 2010 of old age. I hope he knew how happy we are for having him in our lives. May you rest in peace now, wherever you are. I will always love and cherish the joys you have brought into my life. x

Summer Lovin... ♥

Hi all! Hope you all are enjoying your weekends. Had a bit of a worry on Friday as the morning brought light showers here in Sydney but all that cleared and we had a great sunny day up to now.
Still would have liked a white Christmas...but sunny day
s are awesome too cos when the sun is out -- dresses are out too =)

I have been loving Cotton On dresses for a number o
f reasons:

♥ 1. They are so breathable as they are cotton
♥ 2. They are just so cute and all one has to do is accessorise.
♥ 3. Value for money. They may not be no DKNY or Marcs but they give just as much satisfaction (for myself anyways).

Ok 3 reasons..I'm sure there are more. What d
o you think?

Dress: Cotton On
Boots: ROC
Belt: Got this for $1 AUD in Chinatown Sydney (*happy dance*)

Saturday outing. Hubby and I went for a drive after having lunch at a cafe in Crows Nest (Sydney's North).
Had to take a shot of this castle like bridge --- we passed heaps of times but I cannot stop admiring this.

Retail Therapy

After a long day from studying did a bit of retail therapy and picked up the pretty black bow belt. I am going through a stage of buying belts (on the thrifty side of course).

I picked this one up from Review (Australian brand). It was normally $59.95 but thrifted and got it for $15 --- only thing was that it was flawed on the bottom right ..hardly noticeable and fixable.

Dress: Cotton On $5.00
Belt: Review Australia $15.00

Don't you just love a good bargain?

New phone for me after 5 years! Goodbye Nokia 6106 (rip 21 August 2010). You have been with me in my travels and were there when I needed to call -- but it's time to let you go because you died on me.

  • 2mp camera

Geek talk

Watching tv just after dinner, channel surfing, hubby and I started watching Q&A on ABC2 -- as Dick Smith was on there. Just like many channels the focus was on the upcoming federal election. Immigration, broadband were the major topics. This was when hubsters and I got into a long discussion. He being from a long telco background and me coming from zero telco background, it was like having a debate with Google. This was when our silly discussion started.

Me: I'm with the Liberals (broadband), why waste money on something that would become obsolete anyway?
Hubby: Fibre Optics (what Labour is pushing through to connect every household with) will never be obsolete.
Me: Yes it will.
Hubby: Fibre Optics is like having internet access like speed of light.
Me: What if they have something faster than that in a few years and all that money spent on Fibre Optics is just wasted?Hubby: You do know nothing is faster than speed of light.
Me: Yes there is!
Hubby: What?
Me: Warp speed!

And that's where the geek talk started. Me with zero physics knowledge apart from what I saw on Star Trek (Next Generation, Enterprise & the latest movie) started debating with a telco guru about warp speed. I even looked it up. Yes, warp speed is being studied. It's even on BBC. So there. In conclusion, Star Trek is awesome! ♥

I have been slacking off with the blogging but here are a f ew pics we took at Dank Street's Wahwah Cafe and at Carriage Works near our place one Sunday.

At Wahwah Cafe on Dank Street. Hub had egg's bendict and I had the big breakfast. Wasn't too bad but the bread was rock hard.

Carriage Works..the markets was almost closed when we got there.

Good nite!

Mr Tax Man...

Such an awesome Friday/Saturday!! Hung out out the parentals as they are holidaying overseas for a month! Yup, 1 whole month around Europe and US. Am so happy for them but so jealous, cos I want to go too! But while hanging out, I also got to lodge my tax return thanks to mum (aka my accountant). So so very happy with my returns! *happy dance*

Also saw my doggies today. They always top any day. Also just found out that Happy eats
celery. Yes, celery! Very healthy doggy. So cute. She was eating and actually enjoying it.

Actually, she chewed it until it was dry. Still got the good bits though. Now to get Lucky (black pomeranian) to eat vegies. He's getting on, roughly about 12-13yrs old and he already has arthritis and poor vision -- he does not look like it though as he still is uber cute and looks more like a bear than a dog. I just hope he makes it like this dog -- 29yr old dog, only eats rice and veg though. I tried feeding Lucky the celery but he just sniffed it and walked off. =T

Just found this also..good vegies to give to your canines.

With my two doggies. Apologies for the whiteness/paleness -- this is what winter does. Come on summer! Need the tan back.

To end the day..made a tonne of tuna pasta and a massive bowl of salad for dinner. Hubby and I devoured the whole thing. There goes my healthy eating plan!

LG -- Life's Good !

No matter what hardships, emotional turmoil or circumstances comes around, I remind myself constantly that Life's Great! Just laugh away the sorrow.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it.Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
well said Mother Teresa

On a lighter note, how hot is Miranda?!? Oh and I want want want that fragrance --- Heavenly Bloom by Victoria's Secret. I have not seen this in Sydney shops. hmm.

Cannot wait to try the casual outfit in summer!!

Dear Smoker

My ultimate hate is being around smokers. Not that I hate all people who smoke, I just hate the behaviour of inconsiderate ones who just exhale their second hand smoke without a care in the world. It's bad enough that cars, buses and trucks pollute and congest the air we breathe when we walk on the street, people do not need to be exposed to walking behind a person callously exhaling crap in your face.

This is pretty much what is inside a ciggie..and no thanks I would like to go without them please.

Walking along George St at peak hour is probably a no go zone if you want to avoid walking behind or passing a smoker. I was walking home after work and an inconsiderate smoker who I tried to overtake kept on overtaking me, hence wanting me to behind him so I can smell the grossness. *sigh* Winter just makes it worse! Too many smokers out there. This is probably the filthiest habit of all aside from public nose pickers.
So dear uncaring smoker, if you would like to do harm to your body. Please don't involve innocent bystanders too.

Leaving on a Jet Plane.....

Spent meals with my two families yesterday. My brother Julius is leaving for London tomorrow, Tuesday with his gf Bel and still has not sink in that he's going to be gone for so long. As usual we had a family get together where he chose where to have lunch. At first when he said that it was a charcoal chicken place somewhere at west, I thinking wth? But after looking it up and actually having lunch there the place was definitely a more than average charcoal chicken place. It was such a nice restaurant with delicious Lebanese food.

Hubby and I had always wanted to try it as we went past the place a few times when visiting my parents out west...yes, where they have the bestest ethnic food in Sydney! So we had lunch at La Mono (Lebanese restaurant with a French name).
The place was always packed. The meal was presented so well. I didn't even notice that the meat they served was lamb as I don't eat lamb.

See ya little brother! Hope to see you soon. Fingers crossed we can go visit/re-locate as well in the future.

Hyper Drive

As normal, the week went into extreme over-drive. Just flew and everything a blur. A big Yay for the weekends. Friday night was not a great start. I was feeling a little sick and did not do anything social after work. One of my awesome brothers is flying off to London as he got his highly skilled visa and will gone for a fair while, unfortunate I couldn't go to his farewell. I shall see him tomorrow though as the family will bid him adieu. *sniff*.

On a lighter note, such a great Saturday. I was a waitress for a day (3-4hrs of it). Was lending my hands to my sister in-law's amazing cafe in Pyrmont.

Food was delish and coffee awesome! It is such an amazing experience, I've never worked in a cafe before..never been a waitress --except for a very brief stint at Burger King after high school where I worked behind the cash register (2 weeks of it). Which led me to think about how amazing it is to be your own boss. Sure there are risks and a lot of hard work, but in the end the business is yours and having the freedom to make it the way you envision it to be.
Would sure be something to look forward to when I find out what it is that I want to setup.

Also just found out that Orlando and Miranda have tied the knot!! (Yes, I am behind). Orlando is my fantasy husband, after seeing him in the Lord of the Rings and Pirates, I was in
♥. I also think that Miranda is the best match for him. She is a gorgeous beyond belief, amazing fashion sense and an Aussie to boot.

A montage of the beautiful couple below. KerrBloom

Fashion wise, I wish winter would end already! Not the fact that it's freezing *brrrr* The extra kgs from eating to build up body fat (my # excuse) for the cold is not helping! Would love to wear my summer dresses again! I heart the below looks! Come on Spring/Summer!!!

And now time for moshi in ginger and honey syrup with taro! Yummo!! While watching Ocean's 11 with the hubster on the sofa. x

Monday - itis

Very first Monday-itis for this year! My brain was a complete mush when I got into work today. Luckily these days, time flies regardless of what I do - must be a downside of getting older! Didn't help also that we had pizzas for dinner last night. Very same pizza I also took to lunch today @_@.I've made a resolution (very late in the year I know!) to cut down on buying lunch outside as it does add up. The pizza and mocha did not help with the Monday-itis. TG that after lunch time just flew and it was home time. Got out relatively early so decided to go grocery shopping. Another resolution we made - to eat less out.

What's in the bags?I felt like tapping into my inner asian and got heaps of asian things. Leaning towards Chinese and Japanese (thank you Chinatown for being in the way of me getting home!). Master chef eat your heart out! Now to just cook these. What I'm thinking for dinner..miso noodle soup with pak choy, fish ball and beef cubes. Topped with seaweed and for dessert moshi in honey and ginger syrup with taro.

Noticed that hubby was MIA when I got home (hence, I am blogging!) and that he didn't take the car with him..meaning I will need to pick him up and we will be getting dinner out. Miso noodle soup will have to wait I guess.

I heart Mochas!

You can tell it's a good coffee if you can feel it's effects. That is, you can feel the buzz of the caffeine and the taste of the beans.

It was thanks to the this little thing that encouraged me to start this blog. I am a self confessed regular mocha drinker..but this little fellow gave me such a buzz today! I just felt like I was in such a high and it wasn't just me.

My sis in law had a latte and she felt the same. I just can't imagine me having the
full blown coffee. Thank you Abercrombie cafe for the buzz. Just amplified all the emotions..don't think I will be drinking your mochas for a while.

♥ ♥ ♥

Very first post..Weekends ♥

People are complex beings. Each person has different thoughts, dreams and aspirations and based on these makes the person unique from anyone else.

I ♥ weekends! This is the time when I get out of the rat race and the corporate life and do what I am truly passionate about .. at this stage I am still finding out what I am truly passionate about hence I have to carry on building at my career..it's just that the weekends offer so many things. The only downside to it is that once Saturday is gone, the carefree artistic side goes down along with it as there's a whole week at the office to prep myself for.
For the past few weeks I've been thinking about what is one's purpose in life? Are people meant to just go find themselves a career, make money, get married make babies and die? Is this what life is about? I've asked a few close friends and have created a 10 year plan. After careful consideration my plan roughly looks like this....

1-3 yrs
  • Save enough money in the piggy bank to build a nest egg and use for investment.
  • Still be in the rat race
  • Get my company up and running
  • Buy an investment property
3-5 yrs

  • Relocate to another country
  • Start a family
  • Company + investments doing well
  • Move away from rat race

5-10yrs
  • Financial freedom by 40 yo
  • Help the less fortunate

Hmm. See how I go I guess.

I had coffee with mum Saturday and she is one of the most courageous, funny and content people I know. She just see life in such a positive light and I am fortunate enough to get along with her so well. Not having sisters, I suppose she and I have become close because of this.Sunday had lunch with the in-laws. Very insightful. Both of my sister in-laws have a coffee shop with a lot of potential. One is Jamaica Blue in Perth and the other is closer to home in Pyrmont. If anyone wants a good coffee and lunch Delicurious is open Monday-Saturday at Harris Street, Pyrmont.

Just found a book lying around the living room called "Why do I love these People" by PO Bronson..will start reading just to get away from doing the taxes!
